Who is S.E.Linn?

S.E.Linn's Story

Meet S.E.Linn

Your Neighbourhood Author, Publisher & Professional Travel Addict

Hi there! I'm S.E. Linn — award-winning author, publisher, and that slightly whimsical person you might spot in the woods, draped in a riding hood cloak, scribbling poetry while imagining myself as some sort of literary forest sprite. (The trees? Fantastic company. They're wonderful listeners and never once interrupt with unsolicited plot advice.)

I weave stories like spiderwebs — delicate and intricate, with just enough stickiness to catch your heart off guard.  I dance across genres with wild abandon. Why? Because life's far too short to pick just one adventure when you can have them all.

The Backstory (Every Good Author Has One)

My publishing journey began in 2006 with the first edition of Pinky Swear — a book written for a friend whose untimely passing deeply affected me. It taught me that stories matter, that they heal, and that getting them out into the world is sacred work.

Fast forward through a few plot twists, and I published Adventures in Online Dating — my love letter to every woman who's ever stared at her phone wondering if this is really how we're supposed to find love in the 21st century. Spoiler alert: it's messy, it's absurd, and it's absolutely hilarious (when it's not your out-of-control dating dumpster fire). The book won a Literary Titan Award, which I like to think means I've officially turned my romantic disasters into literary gold.

The Travel Bug (It's Terminal, and I'm Not Seeking Treatment)

I caught the travel bug in my twenties when I moved to Japan to teach English. That bug? Still very much alive and thriving. I've lived in some of the most beautiful cities in the world —Tokyo, Vancouver, Sydney, Prague, Edinburgh — collecting stories, accents I can't quite replicate, and an alarming number of passport stamps.

Eventually, I settled back home in Kamloops, British Columbia (beautiful scenery, questionable dating pool — hence the book) to raise my two kids. These days, I travel abroad with my ‘little besties who assume I’m Elon Musk rich” because, let's be honest, that's the only way I can get them to hang out with me. And I'm not above bribery if it means exploring the world together.

Between trips, I teach English from a virtual classroom, which keeps me sane and tides me over until my next travel adventure. I absolutely live for international travel — it's my oxygen, my inspiration, and the reason my suitcase is always half-packed.

Why I Do This (Besides the Cloak-Wearing and Forest Poetry)

Writing is a part of my very soul. It's my passion, my love, my heart. I am grateful to wake up every day and do this work — and even more grateful to help other authors bring their "book babies" into the world.  As every author knows, getting it out is the easy part — selling it? Mmmm….not so easy!

I know that as writers, we crave connection. We just want to sit down and write without worrying about what comes after — the formatting, the covers, the marketing, the overwhelming maze of publishing decisions. And that's where the Wild Child Publishing Team comes in.

My goal? To support authors at every stage of their publishing journey, making the process as exciting and hassle-free as possible. You focus on the writing. Leave the rest to us. We've got you.

When I'm Not Writing or Traveling...

You'll find me wandering through the woods in my cloak (obviously), sipping tea, planning my next international escape, or convincing my kids that yes, another family trip is absolutely necessary for my creative process.

Let's bring your story to life—together.
